Access / Mobility Statement:

The Cobblers is situated in the centre of Wells-next-the-Sea approximately 160 yards from the quay. The building is of brick construction and was built in the 1920’s/1930s. As a result there are features (such as staircases, steps) which are not ideal for those people with limited mobility. In general we would state that the property is not ideal for wheelchair access. However, there are two ground floor rooms, one of which can take a chair if accompanied by a carer/minder who can negotiate the graveled drive and step into the hall from the drive. The room does not have a disabled toilet.

On the ground floor (in addition to the two bed rooms) there is a guest lounge with sofas and armchairs and as with the breakfast room and the downstairs guest toilet does not have any steps to enter or exit. The breakfast room has a wooden floor (laminate) the rest of the guest area on the ground floor is carpeted.

On the first floor there are 4 bedrooms. There are no lifts at the Cobblers, to reach the first floor there are 14 steps from the ground to the first floor and these include two right angled turns on the way up (or down). The Second floor on which there are two bedrooms is also reached by a similar stair case with 14 steps and two turns. All bedrooms and stairways are carpeted.
